4th KAPODISTRIAN RACE 2022

We are pleased to inform you that the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) through its School of Physical Education and Sport Science, under the auspices of the  Region  of Attica,  the Municipality of Zografou and the NKUA School of Medicine –  Postgraduate Program of Global Health & Disaster Medicine announces the 4th 10Km off-track running and 4Km off-track walking race titled "4th KAPODISTRIAN RACE 2022".    

Kapodistrian Race basics:

 When: Sunday, May 15, 2022

 Where: NKUA Zografou Campus

 

10Km running race:

  • Starting point: 2-4 Oulof Palme st., behind the NKUA student dormitory, https://g.page/pofepa?share at 10.00 am
  • Finishing point: Same as starting point (Loop route) 
  • Maximum time allowed to complete the race: 1.30 h

 

4Km walking race:

  • Starting point: 2-4 Oulof Palme st, behind the NKUA student dormitory, https://g.page/pofepa?share 10.10 am
  • Finishing point: Same as starting point (Loop route) 

Maximum time allowed to complete the race: 1.00 h. (After the time limit participants may continue the effort at their own risk.)

 

Honors and awards

10Km running

  • First, second, and third-place runners are the winners of the race
  • Commemorative medals will be given to all runners who finish the race
  • The first three athletes— irrespective of gender— will be awarded a cup and a medal. 
  • Medals will be given to age division winners (18-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+) 

4Km walking

  • All participants who finish the race will receive a finishers' medal.

Applications

Who: Runners who exercise regularly as well as individuals with lower weekly physical activity can participate in the races. Applicants should be aged 18 years or older (born in 2004 or earlier).

Application deadline: Thursday, May 12, 2022

  • The deadline must be adhered to and no extension will be granted

Number of participants: the maximum number of registrations for the running race is 500.

  • Priority will be strictly adhered to under the first-come, first served policy.

Race administration: The race administrative personnel will distribute the participation numbers on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 8.00 to 9.30

Medical condition

It is the participants’ responsibilityto seek appropriate medical adviceprior to participation. Participation in the event is entirely at their own risk and, by entering the event, participants acknowledge that the organizers of the event are not liable for death, injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the event save to the extent that it is caused by their negligence.

*The current Covid-19 provisions will apply for participation in the race.

 

Sports Rules and Regulations

  • The official regulations of the Hellenic Athletics Federation (S.E.G.A.S.) will apply to the games.
  • What is not defined herein, will be regulated by both the technical managers of the race and the Commander of the race.
  • Timekeeping in the race will be online.
  • The route is a loop route, with the starting and finishing points located on the University Campus (the route map is available on the website of www.phed.uoa.gr).
  • The medical coverage of the race will be provided by the Medical Service of the University Campus assisted by a group of volunteer University doctors.
  • An aid station will be placed on the 5th Km of the 10Km running race. 
  • For the convenience of the runners, volunteers will be offering assistance at the aid station but also at the starting and finishing points
